Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations (CAWR)

Legislation which came into force in 2004, placed a much higher responsibility onto all employers:

  • Organisations are required to have in place a record of the asbestos present in the building(s) in which they carry out their business.
  • CAWR also requires that an organisation has in place procedures to manage the risk of any asbestos found to be present

A survey is the most significant step to meeting CAWR requirements.
