FCC Eastcroft Energy From Waste Plant
Shutdown Overhaul 2013
Eastcroft is a two-stream waste to energy plant burning 300 tonnes of municipal waste annually.
The purpose of the outage was to supply and replace the original super heater headers on both boilers and to remove and replace the corresponding super heater elements on both units. These tasks posed particular technical and access problems, due to the configuration of the boilers and that of the boiler house. Additionally, there was the usual volume of general engineering and valve overhaul work, plus the removal, manufacture and installation of a new bag house hopper. The programme was set by the client at 21 days to include all known and emergent work.
The work was completed ahead of programme in complete safety and good quality.
